TPH Presents: A Special Message From Hooper & Buck

Settle down, children. Let’s dialogue for a minute.

We here at The Den of Mystery would like to take this opportunity to remind you that in a little over a month, our country holds its 2008 National General Election, including the quadrennial election of a President. With that in mind, if you are not already registered to vote in your state, please do so in the next week or so.

We encourage you to exercise your civic duty to vote in this fall's elections. Whether you go left, right, or center, it's important to participate and make your voice heard, especially in states where the narrow margins of victory could be decided by voters like you.

So get out and Rock the Vote, Vote or Die, or whatever the fancy new voting chant is these days.

Some info on voting registration requirements by state.

A handy list of registration deadlines by state.

Whenever people encourage to exercise their civic duty and vote, I think the message should come with a reminder that it is also their duty to make sure they are informed about the political issues at hand. In some ways, having droves of ill-informed citizens making the trek to the poles only to check random boxes seems scarier than just letting the apathetic people stay home...

Hopefully that part goes without saying. We'd like to think that y'all got enough smarts to know who and what you're voting for.

But yes, jmc is correct. Do visit the appropriate websites and make informed decisions come Election Day.
